Josedeodo heads to Worlds 2026 as an LCS champion, with unfinished business against T1. Team Liquid’s Argentine jungler was Finals MVP when his team beat LYON 3-1 on October 4, and LoL Esports called him the first Latin American player to win the LCS. But at MSI 2026 he met T1 twice and lost both series 3-0.
Now Worlds is in the United States, from October 15 to November 14, and Team Liquid and T1 could meet again. Here’s who Josedeodo is, how he fared against Oner and T1, and when a rematch could happen.
Who is Josedeodo?
Brandon Joel “Josedeodo” Villegas was born on May 22, 2000, in Argentina and plays jungle. He started at Furious Gaming, won the LLA with Rainbow7 in 2020 and played his first Worlds that year. He then spent time with FlyQuest in the LCS, returned to Latin America with Estral and Isurus, and joined Team Liquid in December 2025.
| Year | Team | Milestone |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | Rainbow7 | LLA Closing champion and Worlds 2020 |

Josedeodo vs T1 at MSI 2026: two series, two 3-0s
MSI 2026 was played in Daejeon, South Korea. Team Liquid entered the Play-In as the LCS second seed and drew T1 in the very first series of the event.
| Date | Stage | Result |
|---|---|---|
| June 28, 2026 | Play-In, round 1 | T1 3-0 Team Liquid |
| June 29, 2026 | Play-In, lower bracket | Team Liquid 3-0 Relove Deep Cross Gaming |
| June 30, 2026 | Play-In, lower bracket | Team Liquid 3-0 Karmine Corp |
| July 1, 2026 | Play-In, qualifier | T1 3-0 Team Liquid |
Before the rematch, Josedeodo posted a 13/0/8 Lee Sin game against Karmine Corp and sounded confident: “They are the favorites, but we have nothing to fear,” he told esports.gg. Before the first series he had told Hotspawn he thought Liquid had “a pretty good chance,” adding, “I don’t know if I’m crazy for thinking that.”
On July 1, game 2 was the closest: Liquid led for much of it after some uncharacteristic T1 mistakes, but T1 regrouped in teamfights and came back. T1 finished the sweep and moved to the bracket stage, while Liquid placed ninth. Josedeodo’s 2026 record against T1: 0 series and 0 of 6 games.
The jungle duel: Josedeodo vs Oner
Josedeodo rates his rival highly. Before MSI he ranked Oner as the tournament’s third-best jungler, behind Kanavi and Xun, calling him “mechanically well-rounded” and hard to play against “even if he’s not doing anything crazy.”
The numbers backed it up. In one June 28 game, Oner’s Xin Zhao went 5/1/11 against Josedeodo’s 2/4/8 on Wukong; in the July 1 rematch Oner was back on Xin Zhao (5/2/14) while Josedeodo’s Jarvan IV finished 2/4/6. Since then the Argentine has carried Liquid to the LCS title, with a 5/1/8 Lee Sin and an 8/2/10 Qiyana in the final against LYON.
Can Team Liquid and T1 meet at Worlds 2026?
Yes, but not in round 1. As LCS champion, Team Liquid goes straight to the Swiss stage in Allen, Texas, in Tier 1. T1 is in Tier 3, and round 1 pairs Tier 1 only with Tier 4. The round 1 draw is on October 18, right after the Play-In final.
From round 2 the Swiss format pairs teams with the same record, so the rematch could come at any point, and again in the quarterfinals or semifinals if both advance. The final is on November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Why it matters for Latin America
Josedeodo is one of the most prominent Latin American players at this Worlds: a starter on North America’s champion, a Finals MVP, with a rematch against the reigning world champions as the backdrop. He has also said his Korean solo queue name was inspired by Lionel Messi, whom he called “a very humble guy” who is “just different.”
If you root for T1, there’s plenty to watch too: Faker, Oner, Doran, Peyz and Keria are chasing a fourth straight world title. Cheer them on in the T1 Worlds 2026 jersey (29.99 USD until October 15) or browse the full shop.
